Inną metodą jest użycie tłoczka. Umieszczamy go w sekcji przedniej, zanurzamy stalówkę w wodzie i używając tłoczka nabieramy wody (tak samo jak nabiera się atrament). Następnie usuwamy wodę za pomocą tłoczka a czynność powtarzamy co najmniej kilkukrotnie. Po wyczyszczeniu, stalówkę pozostawiamy na około godzinę aż do całkowitego wyschnięcia.
